Bullet Journal Calanders 2019

These are to give you some ideas for your bullet journal Calanders. Some are better than others. Sometimes I was lazy or I waited until the last minute and had to hurry with that months Calanders. I wouldn't recommend procrastination on bullet Journaling. It kind of defeats the creative purpose. The best part is these is no right or wrong way to bullet journal. Your Calanders can look similar to mine or nothing like it. You choose what works for you. All you have to do is START. And then there will be a creative flow that comes after that.

Easy Thanksgiving Gifts

This one is so easy and cute. We are moving next week and since its Thanks Giving we wanted to thank those that have impacted our lives while we were stationed in CA. We didn't have a whole lot of money so this is what I came up with.

Supplies:
Everything can be found at the Dollar tree but some things might be cheaper at Walmart. For me, the glass jars where the Dollar Store, the Rolos where are a dollar for a small bag but it only filled up one jar so it cost me $2 to fill up 1 Jar and at Walmart I could buy a bigger bag for about $2.30 and I could fill up 2 jars. So Walmart won on the Rolos. The construction paper could come from the Dollar Tree because you don't need a ton. I like the ribbon at Walmart better and it was actually less than $1. I bought two different colored ribbons; the darker color should be smaller than the bright color.

Putting together:
Print what you want the note to say on construction paper. My paper was really thin so I folded it a couple of times and taped it and that gave me the sickness that I wanted. Then you punch a hole on this side of the tag. (I did not want a big hole so I did not use a hole puncher but it took longer.) Now measure your string to the size you want it. Make sure there's enough to tie the bow and make it look long and pretty. Cut one, test it and then use that to measure and cut the rest at the same time so you don't have to keep guessing the length. Take the string and put it in the back of the tag to the front so it lays correctly on the jar. Tie the strings on your jar and then move the tag directly under the bow as in the picture. I wrote to its from on the back of the tags but you can print that if you would like. Now fill the jars with your candy choice and you have beautiful thank you gifts for those you love.

Notes:
I chose Rolo's because they are a bright candy wrapper and makes the gift pop.
If you would like to do these for another holiday like Christmas or Mother's Day just change what's on the tag to fit the holiday and change the color of the ribbon.

Enjoy :)

Living Room Colors

Cute living room colors with my favorite saying :)

Nursery ABC Frame

I feel in love with this Target Frame. It matched perfectly with the Nursery. But, we were on a budget and that did not invlude expensive wall decor. I decited that I could make it myself for a lot cheaper. After all, isn't that why we somtimes do the crafts in the first place.

Supplies:

- Picture frame, Any size. Try and find one on a good sale. (I would recomend soemthing bigger than an 8 x 10. More around a 11 x 14)
- Thin fabric or some type of adhesive shelf liner or adhesive laminate.
The great thing is you can do any pattern. I found mine at Target in the Red bin section for $2.(Example:Amazon chevron shelf liner)
- Adhesive letter stickers These sould be between $2 - $4.
- A ruler if you are not good at eyeing things
- Scissors

Directions:
1. Take the back of the frame off
2. Use the sample paper inside and use it to mesure your vinyl or fabric. You can either outline it wiht a pencil on the oposite side or use it as a guide while you cute.
3. Cute out vinyl or fabric.
4. Use your ruler to find the middle of your cute out peice. Your O will go above that point and your T will go below. Once you have those two letters set start by placing the letters aournd them first. Figure out how far and close you want the letters to go. Place and reframe.

VUALA!

How to paint Chevron Stripes

Supplies:
- 2 colors of paint and paint brushes and buckets
-Plastic to cover floor
-1 small and 1 tiny art brush
- painters tape (usually found in blue as in images below)
- A light color stick of chalk (I used blue)
- 8 x 10 frame for outlining
- box cutter or other sharp knife

(I do not have images of my white wall but you will start with a white wall)

Always start paint projects with taping everything you don't want painted (creases in walls, windows, plugs, ect.) and covering the floors with plastic.

1. First, take your picture frame and chalk. Place your picture frame in the bottom corner of your wall, with long side up, and outline it with your chalk. Move frame to the edge of the line you just drew and outline another square. After completing the row move in an upward direction. Repeat until all the walsl you want chevron are chalked and squared.

2. Take your tape and tape a square from the corner to the bottom corner. Move to the next square and tape the bottom corner to the top corner. Alternate corners from square to square. (Make sure to press down firmly on the tape after taping to endure no paint will go under the tape.)

                                                                                 3. You will use the box cutter to cute all the overlapping tape like in this image. Make sure to put just enough pressure to cut the tap but not cut the wall. This part is easier than you think.

Your wall should look something like this after you're done taping and cutting access tape off.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      4. Now you are ready to paint over the chevron stripes.

You may need to use two coats depending on which paint you bought.

5. Let the paint sit over night

6. Once it is completely dry slowly peel the take off of the wall.

 7. Chances are you will see that a little paint got underneath the tape, that is ok! Just grab some more white paint and those art brushes and fix anything you don't like. If you think it looks great then no need to fix anything.

Put your furniture back and...

 VUALA!

Now go show off your great paint job!

The Most Inexpensive Crib Bumpers

I bought my babies crib on Craigslist and these were included.
The bumpers I wanted to match his room were $65 and I just wasn't willing to pay that especially when I got some for free. That is when I decided to recreate these.

Let me just start out with, I DO NOT sew. I have no sewing machine and have only sewn little holes in a shirt, nothing big. So if you are like me, don't worry I will tell you how I did it. If you do sew or have a sewing matching then these picture are just ideas to get your brain going.

FYI: This project takes days. I did a little bit a day for like two weeks. I was 8 months pregnant and didn't have much else to do. I liked to work on these while I was watching a movie.

See if someone will give you bumpers or buy some used one for really cheap.
1. Measure bumpers to get an estimate of how much fabric you will need. Always add on an inch or two of fabric just to be safe.
2. Go to your local fabric store and purchase fabric. I had them cut 4 different pieces to make it easier on me. I went to Joanns with my 40% off coupon (if that link does not work just Google Joanns Coupons. I beleive I payed $12 - $15 for all of my fabric.
3. Make sure to purchase thread, needles, and pins if you do not have any.

Now, before starting this project keep in mind that no one is going to be up close and personal with your bumpers. They will be at a glance as they admire your adorable baby nursery. So no pressure to make your stitches or the fabric perfect.
4. Begin by pinning and cutting. You can either pin and then cut or cut and then pin. (I pinned and then cut to make sure I had enough fabric for overlapping. You will probably need to do a little bit of both as you go along either way. I pinned and cut and repined and recut more than once.)
Take the top of the fabric and start on the bottom of the bumper. Pin along the side on the edge of bumper. Now straiten out the fabric and put a couple of pins in the middle as displayed in the picture below. Try to get the middle pins where the fabric is sewn through the bumper.

Now pin the fabric to the top of the bumper in the crease as displayed by yellow lines in the picture below. As you are pinning you will notice the strings are in the way. Pull the strings up and pin under. After pinning you will need to cut slits in the fabric and pull the string through the slips.

(After pinning the creases you will not cut the fabric just yet.) Instead pull the fabric over
to the other side and start pinning the opposite side from top to bottom.
(Make sure to move the strings as described above).
Top has a little extra fabric bundle
and the bottom is smooth and has nothing
As you get to the bottom you can now cut the fabric. Try to cut as straight as possible.
Now slightly over lap the fabric on the bottom of the bumper and take out the pins underneath replacing pins on the top. You do not want any of the other bumper fabric showing.

Next, do the same things on the sides as you did on the bottom but cutting before pinning. Start with the corner, tucking fabric to make it round. (Remember again about the moving the strings and pinning underneath). Pin all the way down, rounding out the corner again. Repeat on opposite side.

5. Everything should be nice and tight now. Make sure there is no loose or hanging fabric. If fabric is not straight or needs some fixing now would be the time to fix and repin.

6. Time to sew. Start on the bottom. Sew down (into the bumper) and up along the bottom of the bumper. You can make your stitching's as wide or small as you want but try to stay consistent. Take pins out as you sew. Next, sew the top in and out through each side. Next, sew sides down into the bumpers and back out as you did the bottom. The corners will need a couple extra stitches to make sure it stays nice and round. Lastly, sew the middle of the bumblers as you pined them. You will sew a line, like so, "_____" in the middle 2 - 4 times depending on how many the original bumpers had. These you will sew in and out thought each side as you did the top of the bumper.

 And VUALA!!
Place them in your crib and move onto your next baby project.
